New Member Information

Welcome to International Harvester Collectors Chapter #33! Here is some general information about our Chapter to hopefully answer some of the usual questions you may have.

MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS --  There are two types of membership in Chapter #33 -- FULL and ASSOCIATE. Full members get their National dues paid by Chapter #33. Associate members are those who already have a National membership through another local Chapter and are joining Chapter #33 to help support Chapter #33. Our event insurance coverage comes from the National club, so to participate in any Chapter #33 event, you MUST be a National member, either through  chapter #33, or another local club.
As directed by the National I-H Collector's Club, Chapter #33 renews memberships (both local and National) in August. Your Chapter #33 membership, and your National club membership, both expire at the end of August. If you do not renew by December 1, both your National and local Chapter #33 membership get put on inactive status, and you will cease to get the National magazine, (Harvester Highlights) and Chapter #33 newsletters and meeting notices. Chapter #33 sends out membership renewal reminder postcards (for members that have not renewed) in early August. If you do not renew by mid-October, you will get a second reminder card, but that is it. You can renew either by sending a check to Brian or Donna Hoover through the mail, or you can renew on-line. The links to renew on-line via a credit card can be found on the MEMBERSHIP page in the MEMBERSHIP & DUES drop-down.
If you are a new member, and you join after April 1 of the year, both National and Chapter #33 will renew you for FREE that following August, so that you don't get less than half a year of membership for your dues. If you join from January-March of the year, you will be asked to renew in August.

MEETINGS AND EVENTS -- Chapter #33 hosts several events for its members during the year. We normally hold three membership meetings per year, usually at a member's house where they can show off their I-H collection. We normally host an event every summer called Red Power Review where we encourage our members to show their equipment at a local show that is featuring International Harvester. We also have a Christmas Party for our members in early December, usually on the first Sunday of the month, depending on restaurant availability.

NEWSLETTERS -- Chapter #33 normally mails out three newsletters per year with information about upcoming events, and pictures from events that have just occurred. We have a Classified Ads section that is free for members to post for sale/wanted ads. The ads are free, but they do not repeat -- if you want to have your ad appear in another newsletter, you will have to resubmit it. We normally send out upcoming newsletter submission requests two or three weeks in advance via the Chapter #33 gmail account, [email protected].  Please note that this account is NOT monitored -- if you need to contact the chapter, please do so via the contact information on MEMBERSHIP page, under the Directors & Advisors drop-down.

MEMBER INFORMATION -- If you change your address, phone number, or e-mail information, PLEASE notify Chapter #33 so we can keep our information up-to-date. Please contact Brian Hoover, Membership Co-Chair, with any changes at [email protected]. We have lost members in the past when they have moved and their address changed, and when we sent their renewal notices, they came back undeliverable, and we had no other way to reach them. CHAPTER #33 DOES NOT SHARE OUR MEMBER'S CONTACT INFORMATION WITH ANYONE OTHER THAN THE NATIONAL CLUB. We send address changes to the National club so you will also continue to receive your Harvester Highlights magazine. Often the only indication we have that a member has moved is when National notifies us that the member's Harvester Highlights magazine has been returned as undeliverable.

Once again, welcome to Chapter #33, and we hope you will be an active supporter of our club! If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact any of the Directors or Advisors via their contact information on the MEMBERSHIP page, under the Directors & Advisors drop-down.
